M111 WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? BARRY CHAPMAN
How to use local records at the state Library and online databases to identify and record your ancestors, their lives and times. To get the most from this course, it is preferable for attendees to have some computer and internet search skills.


M112 HISTORIC SIGHTS/SITES DAVID LEAMAN
Scenery and history can combine to yield a rich yarn. Meet past and present in China, Britain, U.S.A., and Switzerland. There are some interesting stories and enticing views.

M113 SPACE EXPLORATION PETER TAYLOR
Sky and Space - From our Solar System to Deep Space. This term will again cover recent updates, some space oddities and news covering items of interest.

Peter was an explainer at the NASA Deep Space Tracking Centre at Tidbinbilla outside of Canberra. The work there helped to enhance Peter’s interest in astronomy and space exploration.

M114 PAINTING CONTINUATION SELF DIRECTED - PAT OLDING (Facilitator)
This is a continuation class. New people are welcome to join for session 2. We do not have a tutor but a facilitator.

M115 FRENCH *CONTINUATION HILARY FAWCETT
Focus on supported conversation – grammar tuition as required. Small, friendly group, high participation for each student. Content of course largely decided by class members, but please note, it is not a 'French for Tourists' class.

M121 GERMAN (CONVERSATIONAL) IRENE JEPSON
This is an ongoing class but we have room for others. All members need to be fluent enough to understand the flow of conversation and to ask pertinent questions.

A continuing course, not for beginners. Conversation, a little grammar and reading short novels.

Continues the theme of discovering why the surface of the Earth looks the way it does. We will look at the nature of precipitation and running water and why it has shaped such a variety of channels.

M133 FIVE CENTURIES OF CRIME & PUNISHMENT EILEEN LEVETT
A peek into the ‘dark’ side of England's historical psyche. We will look at factors which have shaped crime and punishment in England from Mediaeval to Early Modern times.

M134 HAVE YOUR SAY MICKEY BENEFIEL
Participating session members will be invited to select/nominate a topic which they will lead during the semester. Each week the nominated person will act as moderator to start the debate on their chosen topic.
An attendance  maximum of 17 will be enrolled to ensure that everyone gets a chance to HAVE YOUR SAY.

Read and listen to much loved poetry or recite ones you remember from way back when. Share your anthologies and favourite poems, including your own, in a friendly informal atmosphere.

W112 LET’S GET PHYSICAL IAN DUFFY
In this final instalment of the trilogy that started with 'The Crooked Road' we review and extend the revolution in physics. From pendulum clocks to atomic clocks, from x-rays to PET scans, from nuclear weapons to nuclear energy, we explore how all that knowledge was harnessed. Archival images, video clips, and animated graphics with sound will paint the picture.

One of the Great Courses series, this course consists of 12 lectures on DVD dealing with aspects of the Louvre – the history, the architecture, and the origins of the collection as well is lectures on many of the artists represented.

W132 THE GENTEEL SLAVERY OF GOVERNESSING PENNY COHEN
Who were the governesses? What were the circumstances that caused a genteel person to take employment as a governess? We look at the social history and at some novels and stories which feature governesses. These include Charlotte Brontë's Jane Eyre and her sister Anne’s Agnes Grey, as well as My Brilliant Career by Miles Franklin and Edith Wharton's The Buccaneers.

We will dance dances from different traditions, both old and new. No previous experience is necessary, and two left feet can be accommodated. Steps are easy, pace slow to moderate, taking into account various ailments some of us, including yours truly, have accumulated over the years.
