The recent novel by Bernard link, the German
jurist 'The Reader' and the film of the novel released in 2009 deals with personal and
society guilt. It is a complicated story of guilt set in post war Germany but told in a very
direct and clear manner. The novel which is quite short has sold over a million copies. This
program will review (and read) the novel and examine how the film deals with the story.

musicians. For musicians, there is an opportunity of reading the scores for many of the works
as they are played. It briefly looks at the historical medieval, Renaissance, Baroque,
classical, romantic and 20th-century periods. It includes a music, the composers, the main
genres such as Gregorian chant, madrigals, Mass, fugues, Concerto, Symphony, chamber music,
opera, sonata, lied, piano music, program music, nationalism. The genres are linked to the
