The 10 distinguishable dot patterns

10 dot patterns   1 corner dot
  1 vertical line
  1 horizontal line
  2 diagonal lines
  1 square
  4 corners

What is proposed here is that we use an automatic method to sort them; one that is so simple that a child can use it.
